We know there is a lot to read here. But we also know there is a high likelihood that you are on the toilet (according to the latest statistics). So, if you are at all interested why a soap company would have so many terms and conditions, read away.
We request that you please read the following terms and conditions carefully prior to using our website or placing an order. All users of this site agree that access to and use of this site are subject to the following terms and conditions and other applicable laws. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add or remove portions of these terms and conditions, without notice at any time. Such changes shall be posted on this page, as well as in the order review section of the checkout process, and become effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of this website following the posting of changes to these terms and conditions will mean you accept those changes. Gridley’s may, in its sole discretion, at any time, suspend or terminate the operation of this website or any products or services provided on this website, without prior notice.
Although adverse reactions to our ingredients are uncommon, we recommend you test our products first by using them on a small patch of skin for 24 hours. If redness or irritation develops, discontinue use. The appearance of our products may vary from batch to batch due to their handmade nature. Content provided on this website has been obtained from a variety of sources and is believed to be true. It has been provided for educational purposes only. The information presented is not meant to diagnose or treat any medical condition nor to replace the advice or care of a qualified health professional. Gridley’s accepts no responsibility for any errors or omissions on this website.
Gridley’s takes the privacy of your personally identifiable information very seriously. We only collect information that you voluntarily submit to us either directly or through the website. The contact information you provide is used to send you orders and company information. Your financial information is used for the sole purpose of billing you for products and services. Personal information will not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with your consent or as required by law. Gridley’s protects the information you provide through the website using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption. SSL is an accepted standard for transferring information securely across the Internet. It encrypts data passed between the server and the browser, so that unauthorized parties cannot interpret sensitive, confidential or personal information. Your credit card information is not retained on Gridley’s server.
All prices listed are represented in Canadian dollars and are subject to all applicable taxes.
Online – Orders may be placed through the website's secure shopping cart. All information you submit is protected by encryption software and your credit card information is collected using an SSL secure server. Simply select the items you wish to purchase, choose your desired shipping method and proceed to our convenient one-page checkout.
In Person – Purchases can be made in person at craft shows and other events/festivals as well as our retail store. Please check the website for upcoming shows.
Telephone – If you would rather order by telephone, please fill out our secure Contact Us form including your phone number and we'll call you to take your order.
Payment for online orders is processed by our secure shopping cart. You have the option of paying with a PayPal account, E-transfer or with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express or JCB card . In-person orders may be paid for by Debit. Orders may also be paid for by check or cash. Please do not mail cash. Orders paid for by check will be shipped once your check has cleared. Gridley’s does not offer Net Payment Terms. All orders must be pre-paid in full prior to shipping. This applies to all accounts including wholesale and custom orders. Canadian funds only (exceptions may be made for in person purchases at events located near a US border. In those instances, US cash may be accepted).
Gift Cards may be redeemed in person at our show booth (check our Show Schedule for dates and locations) or on our website when paying with a credit card. If you have a Moneris Gift Card, please contact us for assistance.
Shipping and Handling
The shopping cart will calculate shipping costs at time of purchase. The postage is determined by the weight/size of the order and destination. Shipping quotes include a small business discount. Dates provided in shipping quotes are approximations. Canada Post’s website indicates the following delivery standards: Regular Post - 2 to 9 days, Xpresspost - 1 to 3 days, and Priority Courier - Next day delivery. Orders are shipped daily at 4 pm from our local Post Office. Orders may be picked up on a pre-arranged basis only. We are located just outside of Lindsay, Ontario. Gridley's does not charge a handling fee.
Business hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, EST. Gridley's is closed on holidays. Orders are usually processed within 2 business days following receipt of your payment. From time to time, Gridley's may close. Please check the website in advance of placing your order for any announcements of potential upcoming closures.
An email notification is sent to you at time of purchase to confirm your order details and selected shipping method. A second email will be sent to notify you that your order has been shipped. You may contact us at any time with questions about your order.
We are not responsible for order delays or miscommunication caused by your email filters preventing our emails from reaching you. Please adjust your spam filter settings so that you can receive emails from email@example.com.
We regret that we cannot accept cancellations or changes after your order has been shipped. If you would like to order additional products, a second separate order must be placed. Any changes to an order prior to shipping may result in additional shipping charges and may delay the original estimated date of delivery. A 15% re-stocking fee will be charged if the order is cancelled prior to shipping. If an order is refused upon delivery, a 15% restocking fee plus full shipping charges will be incurred.
100% customer satisfaction is our goal. However, due to the nature of the products, all sales are final. If you require additional information about any of our products, please contact us prior to making your purchase.
Please inspect your package(s) at the time of acceptance. Should you receive goods damaged in-transit, carefully verify the extent of the damage, keep all wrappings, packaging materials, invoices or mailing receipts if available, and the damaged item, then notify us and Canada Post within 2 business days. Damage claims are submitted directly to Canada Post Customer Service.
Gridley’s may provide links to third party websites or resources. We do not have any control over third party web sites or resources, therefore we cannot be held responsible or liable for any content, or for your reliance on any content, found on such third party websites or resources.
Gridley’s does custom and large orders! However, in order to keep our products as fresh as possible, we keep a relatively low inventory in stock. If you would like to place a custom or large order, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please allow for a longer processing time to prepare your order. Our soap takes about 4 weeks to cure, and depending on how large the custom order is, it can take a bit longer to package and get it ready for shipment or delivery.
US and International Orders
Gridley’s may accept US and international orders. Please do not use the online shopping cart, instead please email us with your order and we will be happy to determine your total, including shipping charges. US and international shipping rates will be calculated based on package size, weight and shipping method selected. Orders will be shipped via Canada Post Small Packet or Expedited service, as selected by you. There is no tax applied to orders shipped to the US or internationally. Payment through Paypal (no account necessary) is accepted for US and international orders and is required prior to shipment. Please contact your local customs authority to determine any tax or duty charges that may apply, prior to placing your order. Gridley’s is not responsible for any custom fees, duty/processing charges, associated taxes nor for any delays at customs.
