Usage Rates and Test Batches in Cold Process Soapmaking
Ready to move beyond the basics? This workshop is designed for graduates of our Introductory Soapmaking Workshop (required) who want to expand their skills and start creating custom soaps with confidence.
In this three-hour, hands-on class, you’ll learn how to:
-
Resize formulas to suit different batch sizes.
-
Calculate precise usage rates for scents, colours, and additives.
-
Experiment using two six-cavity molds to create small test batches.
This workshop is all about creative experimentation:
-
Want a particular shade of pink? Test out different amounts of colourant until you achieve the perfect hue.
-
Curious about texture? Try varying amounts of exfoliants like pumice in individual bars and compare the results.
By making small, individual bars before committing to a full loaf, you’ll save time, money, and resources while gaining valuable insight into how different additives behave in your recipes.
✨ Leave this workshop with new skills, practical experience, and the confidence to design soaps that are truly your own.
